Former security guard testifies in Van Breda murder trial
CAPE TOWN – A former security guard at the luxury De Zalze Estate says security at the upmarket complex was always up to scratch.
Lorenzo Afrika was testifying at the axe murder trial in the Western Cape High Court.
It’s day five of the trial in which Henri van Breda is
accused of murdering his parents and brother, and attempting to murder his sister.
Afrika says cameras were checked daily.
When he came on shift at 6pm the on 26 January 2015 — the night before the murders took place — the electric fences were functioning and there had been no alarm activations.
The next witness to take the stand will be the manager of the De Zalze Estate.
